Body of missing person at Ulu Kiulu found after six days

KOTA KINABALU: The body of Kevin Lokuman who was last seen on Tuesday last week, was found on Monday (Aug 28), six days since he went missing at Kampung Bambangan Lama, Ulu Kiulu.

Villagers found the remains of the 32-year-old man at 10.30am, about three kilometres from the village area and alerted the authorities.

“The Fire and Rescue Department team arrived at 12.50pm at the control post and went to the location where the body was discovered.

“The team carried the body using a stretcher to the control post. It took some time as the route was difficult due to the hilly forested terrains.

“The victim’s body was handed over to the police at 6.14pm,” said the Department spokesman, adding that the operation was ended at 6.24pm.

Last Thursday (Aug 24), family members reported his disappearance after he failed to return home. It was stated that he left the family home at 5am on Tuesday without informing any of the family where he was going.

An integrated search and rescue (SAR) operation was then mounted involving various agencies and civilians.
