Hadi ready to cooperate with Bukit Aman in probe into Simpang Jeram campaign speech

PETALING JAYA: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang is ready to cooperate with the police after receiving a call from Bukit Aman on Monday (Aug 28) morning pertaining to his speech during the Simpang Jeram, Johor by-election campaign, says his political secretary Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman.

Mohd Syahir said the police wanted to obtain information from the PAS leader after a report was lodged about his speech.

"Tuan Guru (Abdul Hadi) expressed his willingness to give full cooperation to Bukit Aman.

"Prior to this, he (Abdul Hadi) had already given his statement and handed over the device (mobile phone) belonging to his official Facebook administrator (press secretary) to Bukit Aman as well as the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to assist the investigation," said the Bachok MP in a statement Monday (Aug 28).

He added that Abdul Hadi had full faith in the professionalism of the police and MCMC in carrying out their duties and investigations.
