Skeletal remains of man found in Klang drain


KLANG: The skeletal remains of a man were found in a drain near Jalan Kebun here.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said they received a call from a local man at around 8.15pm on Sunday (Aug 27).

"The caller claimed that a human skeleton was found in the drain there. We sent a police team to the scene to investigate and found a human skull and skeletal remains believed to be from the hip downwards," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 29).

He said the skeletal remains were stuck near a pipe in the drain.

"The remains were sent to the Shah Alam Forensic Department for a post-mortem. The cause of death however could not be determined as the skeletal remains were incomplete," he said.

ACP Cha then added that the forensic department has determined that the skeleton was that of a man in his 30's.

"The race and identity of the man could not be identified.We advise anyone with information on this case or family members of anyone who is missing to come forward immediately," he said.

ACP Cha added that those with information could contact the South Klang police hotline at 03-3376 2222.

It was reported that Fire And Rescue Department personnel were called to the scene after police found an unidentified body in a drain along Jalan Kebun here.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar was quoted saying that they received a call about the incident at around 10.29pm on Sunday.

Police asked for the assistance of the Fire and Rescue Department in providing a ladder for them to remove the body.
