Two men nabbed for breaking into house at Ampang


AMPANG: Two Myanmar nationals were detained for allegedly breaking into a house in Taman Melur here and carting away valuables.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the thieves stole a wristwatch and a power bank during the incident at about 3.55am on Monday (Aug 28).

"Investigations led us to arrest the two men aged 25 and 40 at Kampung Baru Ampang at about 12.30am on Tuesday (Aug 29).

"Both suspects had prior criminal records and tested positive for various drugs including methamphetamine," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said several items were seized from the suspects including a luggage bag, seven wristwatches, a power bank, seven mobile phones and clothing.

"Both men have been remanded until Sept 4.

"The case has been classified under Section 457 of the Penal Code for breaking and entering with the purpose of stealing," he added.
