KL cops hunting for five suspects in alleged gang rape


KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for five men believed to be involved in the gang rape of a woman here.

Bukit Aman Sexual, Women and Child Investigations Division (D11) assistant director Assistant Comm Siti Kamsiah Hassan confirmed the case when contacted.

"Yes, it is a rape case. Kuala Lumpur (police) is investigating the matter," she said on Thursday (Aug 31).

According to Berita Harian, the 27-year-old victim was raped in a house in Wangsa Maju on Wednesday (Aug 30).

It is believed that one of the five suspects is the victim's brother-in-law.

Efforts to contact Kuala Lumpur police for more information are ongoing.
