National Day: King, Queen arrive at Dataran Putrajaya to loud cheers

PUTRAJAYA: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah have arrived to grace the National Day 2023 celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya here.

The arrival of Their Majesties at 7.58am on Thursday (Aug 31) was met by loud cheers from thousands of spectators who begin gathering at Dataran Putrajaya as early as 2am Thursday.

A look in any direction saw a sea of Jalur Gemilang being waved by crowds from all walks of life.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had arrived for the celebration at 7.53am Thursday.

The National Day 2023 celebration themed "Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan, Penuhi Harapan" is expected to draw some 100,000 visitors.
