Photo Gallery: Malaysians turn out in droves for National Day celebrations

PUTRAJAYA: The Jalur Gemilang flew majestically as thousands of people from all walks of life rekindled their spirit of patriotism at Dataran Putrajaya here on Thursday (Aug 31) to express their love for the nation on Malaysia’s 66th National Day with bursting pride and colours.

The early morning peace and tranquility was broken from as early as 2am when a sea of people flocked to every corner of the square where the event is being held.

Dignitaries and national leaders started to arrive at 7.30am, followed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, who waved to the crowd and were greeted by loud cheers.
