National Day: Perakians throng Indera Mulia Stadium from 6am for best view of parade

IPOH: About 25,000 people attended the National Day 2023 celebration here, with many of them arriving at the Indera Mulia Stadium as early as 6am Thursday (Aug 31) to get the best spot to watch the parade.

The event was graced by Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

Also present were Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Idris Shah, Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Idris Shah and Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, state executive council members and other representatives were also present.

The parade consisted of 91 contingents and nearly 5,000 participants from uniformed units, government departments, schools, local government and the private sector.

There was also a choir performance jointly performed by SMJK Sam Tet and SMJK Ave Maria Convent and a musical performance that showcased elements of unity and peace.
