National Day: VAT69 commandos wow the crowd with parachute landing

PUTRAJAYA: The crowd at Dataran Putrajaya here was wowed by the heroic acrobatics of VAT69 commandos landing in Dataran Putrajaya with parachutes during the 66th National Day parade here Thursday (Aug 31).

The team of six were despatched from a helicopter while holding the Jalur Gemilang, the Malaysia Madani logo and the VAT69 commando flag, among others.

Separately, a woman army personnel made history by successfully making a leap over a ramp using a motorcycle during one of the performances in conjunction with National Day celebrations.

Zaidatul Husna Kamaruddin, whose birthday also falls on Aug 31, is part of the Army's Red Warrior unit who successfully put on acrobatic performance on motorcycles.

Among the stunts performed included wheelies and a peacock formation with more than five officers on one motorcycle.

The National Day 2023 celebration themed "Malaysia Madani: Tekad Perpaduan, Penuhi Harapan" is expected to draw some 100,000 visitors.
