Tile factory worker killed in freak workplace accident


KLANG: A workplace accident here killed one worker after mosaic tiles fell on the victim.

When contacted Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said that the incident occured on Thursday (Aug 31) at a building material wholesaler in Port Klang, and that the department was notified at 9.47am.

"The 40-year-old victim was crushed by eight pieces of mosaic tiles that had fallen from a rack in the storeroom. The victim was pronounced dead by a medical officer from the Health Ministry," he said.
