Ahmad Terrirudin to succeed Idrus Harun as Attorney General

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh will be the new Attorney General to replace Tan Sri Idrus Harun, says Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

Mohd Zuki said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had consented to Terrirudin's appointment, which will take effect on Sept 6. Idrus' contract ends on Sept 5.

"The government thanks Idrus for his service to the nation as Attorney General," said Mohd Zuki in a statement on Friday (Sept 1).

Idrus, who is a former Federal Court judge, was appointed as AG on March 6, 2020.

Ahmad Terrirudin was a Federal Court chief registrar before being appointed as Solicitor General in 2020.
