‘Bersatu relying on PAS for win’

JOHOR BARU: Bersatu is depending on the might of PAS in the Pulai and Simpang Jeram by-elections, says Umno supreme council member Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

He said this could be seen as PAS leaders – including its president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor – coming here to campaign for Perikatan Nasional candidates.

“The presence of the PAS leaders shows that Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is Perikatan chairman, has lost his ‘wow’ factor in his own state.

“Muhyiddin is no longer relevant in Johor as the people here have rejected Bersatu and Perikatan in the Johor state election held last year,” he said in a Facebook post.

Nur Jazlan, who is Pulai Umno division chief, said that even if Perikatan was depending on Johor Bersatu leaders, there would be no benefit for Perikatan itself as Bersatu is unqualified to even lead their party in the campaign.

“This is why Muhyiddin is riding on the popularity of Hadi and Sanusi to make sure that Perikatan can win. This is also the reason why Perikatan members are calling the campaign the green wave when the colour of their coalition flag is blue.

“Bersatu has nothing to be proud of despite going through the six state elections,” said Nur Jazlan.
