Man gunned down in Kapar sparks murder probe


KLANG: A murder investigation has begun after a man was found dead with gunshot wounds in Kapar.

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao said the body was found by police on Wednesday along Jalan Hamzah Alang 22/KU9 here.

Witnesses told police they had heard sounds of gunfire coming from the scene and that there had been a minor traffic accident beforehand there as well.

“The victim is 36 years old and was found to have 12 prior offences for extortion and drug-related crimes.

“We have also located several witnesses in the area.

“Efforts to gather more evidence and CCTV footage are underway to identify the suspect involved,” ACP Vijaya Rao said yesterday.

Videos of the gunshot victim had been circulating on social media, showing the man lying on the ground, as well as a wrecked motorcycle nearby.
