Choose a candidate who promotes moderation, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong hoped his "comrades" would have the wisdom to choose a candidate who always promoted moderation.

The former Transport Minister and Ayer Hitam MP said this in a Facebook post after visiting Pulai MCA division on Sunday (Sept 3).

"Appreciation goes to Wanita Chief and Pulai Division Chairman Wong You Fong for gathering our comrades from the division for the interaction session," he said.

"I explained to them the importance of maintaining the value of moderation in our country and we must always strive for economic stability for the development of our nation.

"I believe our comrades will have the wisdom to choose a candidate who always promotes moderation," he added.

Dr Wee said Pakatan Harapan candidate Suhaizan Kayat also met up with MCA leaders from the Pulai division and received the blessings.

Also present were Johor executive councillor and Yong Peng state assemblyman Ling Tian Soon, Pekan Nanas state assemblyman Tan Eng Meng, MCA central committee member Tan Tuan Peng and Johor MCA Secretary Datuk Ng Keng Heng.

The by-election for the Pulai parliamentary seat and Simpang Jeram state seat were held following the death of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub who was respectively the MP and assemblyman for the seats.

Pakatan’s Suhaizan is in a three-cornered fight against Perikatan’s Zulkifli Jaafar and Independent candidate Samsudin Mohamad Fauz.
