Fire and Rescue Dept pry open locked door in Kunak to retrieve body


Firefighters prying open the locked door to a house in Kunak using special tools on Monday, where they found a body inside.

KOTA KINABALU: The Fire and Rescue Department responded to the call of assistance to open a locked door to a house in Kunak on Monday (Aug 4), which led them to a lifeless body.

Victim Tseu Chen Vui, 69, was pronounced dead by medical officers on site after the firefighters were able to get to him.

Earlier, a call had come in at 2.56pm for assistance to prying open the locked door of a house at Kunak Jaya Lorong 5 there as it was reported that a man was unconscious inside, and a team was sent over.

"The team used special tools to open the door, and brought out the victim, who was then declared dead at the scene.

"The remains have been handed over to the police for further actions, and the operation ended at 5.46pm," said the Department spokesman.
