KUALA LUMPUR: One suspect in the gang assault and rape of a 26-year-old woman in Wangsa Maju made a video recording of the attack, police said.
Wangsa Maju Supt Ashari Abu Samah said five men were believed to be involved in the Aug 30 crime.
"The victim was awakened from sleep after being gagged and tied up by five men. One of them raped her while another recorded the attack.
"At around 9.30pm on Sept 2, we arrested a 29-year-old man in front of a restaurant in Jalan Rampai Niaga 5 in Wangsa Maju. He has been remanded until Sept 8," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 5).
The suspect has been identified as the victim's brother-in-law.
Supt Ashari said the suspects managed to enter the house because the brother-in-law had told the victim earlier to leave the door unlocked.
Supt Ashari said it was discovered that the brother-in-law owed money to one of the other suspects, who are still at large.
Investigations are ongoing to track them down, he added.
