Foreign worker killed in quarry accident


IPOH: A foreign worker has died in a mishap at a quarry in Keramat Pulai here.

According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Faiezaruddin Mohd Yusop, a distress call was received at 11am on Tuesday (Sept 5).

“The victim’s hand was reported to be stuck in heavy machinery.

“Right now we have to stop the retrieval operation for a while as there are rock movements at the scene,” she said in a statement.

It is learnt that the worker's remains were successfully retrieved at 2.40pm.
