Investigation papers on Hadi Awang, Mahathir sent to AG's Chambers, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation paper involving PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has been submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain (pic).

He said the investigation paper was submitted to the Attorney General's Chambers on Thursday (Sept 7) morning.

"We will wait for further instructions from the AGC regarding the case," Razarudin said when speaking to reporters after officiating the closing of the 4th National Forensic Symposium for Law Enforcement held at the Royal Malaysia Policr College on Thursday (Sept 7).

On Monday (Sept 4), the police recorded Abdul Hadi's statement in connection with him allegedly disputing the Pardons Board’s granting of pardons.

The remarks were allegedly made during a ceramah in Bakri, Muar, Johor.

At around 11.15am on Monday a Bukit Aman officer was seen entering the PAS headquarters here. He was seen leaving about an hour later.

Deputy Inspector-General Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay had said that the party president answered five of the 24 questions asked.

“He said he will answer the remainder in court. He is being investigated under the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act," he said

Meanwhile on another matter, the IGP said the IP involving Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was submitted to the AG's Chambers two days ago.

The investigation is in connection with Dr Mahathir allegedly insulting the Royal institution.
