Pulai polls: Police approve 367 ceramah, campaigning permits


JOHOR BARU: Police have approved a total of 367 permits for ceramah and the campaigning period for the Pulai and Simpang Jeram by-elections.

Johor police by-election spokesman Supt Ibrahim Mat Som said the authority had approved 43 permits on Wednesday (Sept 6) in the two elections.

“From Aug 26 until Sept 6, we have approved 367 permits from the 377 applications that we received, with a total of three investigation papers opened.

“On Wednesday, we approved 13 permits for ceramah and 20 permits for campaigning in Pulai and six permits for ceramah and four permits for campaigning in Simpang Jeram,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (Sept 7).

All political parties are also urged to ensure that their banners and campaign materials do not hinder any road signs, traffic lights, private premises, or prohibited roads, he added.

Supt Ibrahim said that those with concerns about any issues are urged to contact the nearest police station for help
