Sabah Muda disagrees with Syed Saddiq calling DAP a 'lapdog'

PETALING JAYA: A Muda leader has disagreed with party president Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman’s move to call DAP a "lapdog" of Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Sabah Muda chairman Amos Thien said it was unfair to give DAP such a label, as every party had bad apples.

"Sorry president, I have to disagree with name-calling. I personally know some DAP leaders, especially in Sabah and they are good leaders.

"Every party has their bad apples with extreme views, including Muda, and we are working on it.

"But to lump up DAP as a lapdog is just wrong in my book," said Thien on X on Thursday (Sept 7).

On Thursday ( Sept 7), Syed Saddiq said DAP was a "lapdog" of Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who was recently granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA).

Syed Saddiq said it was DAP vice-chairman Nga Kor Ming who once accused Ahmad Zahid of being corrupt.

Syed Saddiq said on Tuesday (Sept 5) that Muda would reevaluate its position in the unity government after the DNAA was granted to Ahmad Zahid.

On Sept 7, Nga said Syed Saddiq should have refrained from expressing discontent publicly, as Muda was part of the unity government.

On Monday (Sept 4), the High Court granted a DNAA to Ahmad Zahid for all 47 graft charges involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds.
