Police seek help to identify body of man found at sea off Semporna


KOTA KINABALU: Police have sought public assistance to help identify a body found floating at the Bum Bum Island jetty in Semporna on July 4.

Semporna OCPD Supt Farhan Lee Abdullah said the unidentified man in his 30s had yet to be claimed by any relative and as such he urged anyone with a missing relative or with any information to come forward to help identify the man.

The public could contact Bum Bum police station chief acting Asst Supt Muhammad Ali Amat at 013-212 0852, or the Bum Bum police station at 0116-463 7271 or 0111-589 1631 or the nearest police station.

Supt Farhan said that police had ruled out foul play and had classified the case as a sudden death report.

He said a post-mortem was conducted following the recovery of the body on Sept 4.
