Three more suspects arrested in Puchong body-in-car case

KUALA LUMPUR: Three more suspects including a woman have been arrested over the abduction and murder of a man whose body was found in a car in Puchong.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the three suspects were arrested from

Friday to Sunday.

"We arrested a male suspect on Friday, a female suspect on Saturday and another male suspect on Sunday.

"The three have been remanded to assist with further investigations into the case," he said when contacted on Monday (Sept 11).

He said they have also obtained a remand extension for the four other suspects arrested on Sept 6.

It was reported that the body of a 26-year-old man was found in a car at 12.50am on Wednesday (Sept 6) near a petrol station in Batu 14, Puchong.

Initial investigations showed the victim was abducted by a group of men at the Kampung Muhibbah People's Housing Project (PPR) on Sunday (Sept 3).

Following the incident, the victim's father lodged a report at the Bukit Jalil police station at 5am on Monday (Sept 4). He was alerted to the abduction by his son's girlfriend.

Acting on information, police detained four men aged from 27 to 35 around the Klang Valley.

The victim's body was later discovered in Batu 14, Puchong.

Police believed the motive was revenge for stealing valuables belonging to the main suspect, who is still at large.

The four suspects detained had prior criminal records including for drug-related offences. They also tested positive for drugs.

A post-mortem exam revealed that the victim suffered a broken jaw and ribs, as well as a fractured skull.
