Minister: Partnerships key to high-income status
PETALING JAYA: One of the most important drivers in the quest for Malaysia to become a fully developed nation lies in having dynamic human capital development policies, says V. Sivakumar.
The Human Resources Minister, however, stated that the ministry and the government shouldn’t bear the entire burden to achieve this.
“We need to build collaborative partnerships with policymakers, business leaders, experts, associations, institutions of higher learning, and other stakeholders.
“This will help the government stay connected with the needs of the industry and community and, in turn, formulate better initiatives for the future.
“To achieve high-income status, Malaysia must address the challenges and work hard to develop its vast talent pool,” he said in his speech at the soft launch of the National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE) 2023 here yesterday.
In that manner, Sivakumar said the NHCCE 2023 was a timely initiative that serves as a platform for stakeholders from across industries to come together, exchange insights and chart a course towards a more robust and dynamic workforce ecosystem.
He added the event will foster collaboration, encourage innovation and provide a great space for thought-provoking discussions on the trends and strategies shaping the future of human capital in the country.
HRD Corp chief executive and chairman of the NHCCE 2023 working committee, Datuk Shahul Dawood, said some 30 world-renowned human capital thought leaders and experts on human capital will be coming together to share insightful discussions at the event.
He hoped the conference would inspire the region’s talents and industry players to drive impactful human capital transformation efforts in their respective organisations.
The NHCCE 2023 is set to take place from Oct 30 to 31 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Themed “Pioneering Growth, Inspiring Change”, the NHCCE aims to help organisations and human resources practitioners stay ahead of the shifting demands in the modern workplace.
The discussions will be based on key topics covering five pillars – Technology and Innovation; Leadership and Growth; Motivation and Well-being; Learning and Development; and Dynamic Workforce and Future Workplace.
The exhibition area will feature over 400 reputable exhibitors, providing the latest trends in upskilling models, technologies and well-being platforms, which in turn will help to advance the growth of organisations and individuals.
