Penang Ferry offers discounted season pass, extends operating hours

GEORGE TOWN: Starting Tuesday (Sept 12), Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB), which provides the Penang Ferry service, is offering a 30% discount on fares through a discounted season pass for motorcyclists.

In a statement, it said the special initiative, with the joint endorsement of the Penang Port Commission (PPC), Transport Ministry and MMC Corporation Bhd (MMC), would provide convenience and affordability to ferry passengers.

"Effective Sept 12, PPSB is offering a 30% discount through a discounted season pass for motorcyclists.

"This discount will be made available until June 30 next year," said a statement issued.

The original price of the season pass which costs RM150 for 60 trips would translate to RM2.50 per trip.

With the discounted price of RM105 for the season pass, it would only cost RM1.75 per trip.

The discounted season pass is available via MyKad.

The operating hours of the ferry service have also been extended, with an additional trip at 11pm daily from Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim (PSAH) in Butterworth.

"This adjustment aligns PPSB’s ferry service with the KTMB ETS train schedule to arrive at 10.22pm, ensuring a seamless and convenient travel experience for all passengers," the statement added.
