Police report lodged against Jengka rep over 3R issue

KUANTAN: A police report has been lodged against Jengka assemblyman Shahril Azman Abd Halim for allegedly playing up race, religion and royalty (3R) sentiments on social media.

Ahmed Wafiuddin Shamsuri, the special officer of Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman, lodged the report at the Manchis police station on Wednesday (Sept 13) evening.

He alleged that Shahril Azman made statements that touched on bumiputra rights.

Ahmed Wafiuddin claimed that the Shahril Azman TikTok video also showed him campaigning for PAS in Felda Sungai Kemahal, which is located in the Pelangai state constituency, before nomination day set for the upcoming by-election there.

The seat fell vacant following the death of Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, 53, in a plane crash in Shah Alam on Aug 17.

The Election Commission has set Oct 7 as polling day, Sept 23 for nomination day and early voting on Oct 3. – Bernama
