KUALA LUMPUR: The initial notice submission by organisers of the "Save Malaysia" rally on Saturday (Sept 16) did not fully comply with the provisions of the Peaceful Assembly Act, says Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain (pic).
The Bukit Aman CID director said the organisers left out certain details in their initial submission.

"They failed to include details such as the names of the organisers involved as well as the venue for the rally.
"These are seasoned individuals who have a lot of experience in organising demonstrations," he told reporters at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on Thursday (Sept 14).

When asked on the possibility of the "Red Shirts" holding a counter rally, Comm Mohd Shuhaily said Bukit Aman's top brass had been very clear that those interested in holding rallies must notify the police five days prior to the event and must mention where they want to have it.
"Until today, no notice has been given by the organisers but our intelligence shows that the venue keeps changing.
"Our latest intelligence is that it will be done at one of the mosques in Kampung Baru," he said, adding that the fact that there was no clear confirmation by the organisers could lead to a host of problems including inconvenience to road users.

He said the police hoped the organisers can be more responsible in this respect.
Comm Mohd Shuhaily said the police would not go to the extent of obtaining court orders to bar certain people from being in any particular areas.
"We don't want to overreact. We will prepare ourselves (for the rally) as long as public order is not jeopardised.
"We do not want to inconvenience the people," he said, adding that it is in line with the Governments aspirations.
He said they would take necessary legal action against he organisers.
"The organisers know about the legal implications. This is not the first time (for them)," he said.
