KUALA LUMPUR: Umno has completed the post-mortem of its performance in the recent state elections in six states and will take remedial measures and make improvements, says Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

The Umno secretary-general the findings of the post-mortem were obtained from Umno divisions and party wings nationwide.

This, he said, this was among the matters that were discussed in the party's supreme council meeting held at the Umno headquarters at the World Trade Centre (WTC) here at 8pm on Wednesday (Sept 13).

He added that Umno would also enhance and strengthen ties with Pakatan Harapan component parties to ensure there is political stability in the unity government.

Asyraf also said Umno would hold a party division convention which will focus on fortifying the party.

He said the convention would bring common understanding among its grassroots members on the party's policies, principles and the direction of its struggles in the unity government.

When asked about Isham Jalil's call for Umno to have a referendum on its cooperation with DAP, Asyraf said it was not discussed at the meeting.
