Bank Negara area is safe, says KL police chief


KUALA LUMPUR: Police confirmed that no suspicious materials were found at the Bank Negara following a thorough inspection conducted in response to a bomb threat reported at the central bank on Wednesday (Sept 20).

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid when contacted, confirmed the information and assured that the Bank Negara area was safe.

"We received the report (of the bomb threat) at around 3pm and the Bomb Disposal Unit was dispatched to the scene. After a thorough inspection, no suspicious items were found.

"Police have also opened an investigation paper on the bomb threat at Bank Negara," he added. - Bernama
