Cops rescue foreign woman kidnapped after business deal goes sour

KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign woman who was kidnapped over a halted business deal has been rescued by the police, says Bukit Aman.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, at a press conference Thursday (Sept 21), said that the complete details of the case will be revealed by the Penang police on Friday (Sept 22) at a press conference, adding that today’s reveal was just a “teaser”.

The success was the result of a joint team from Bukit Aman along with Penang and Selangor police.

“A foreigner was involved with a business matter but that matter was halted midway. A family member was then kidnapped,” he said adding that the victim was saved earlier this week.

He added that this success was proof that the police were still hard at work investigating cases aside from 3R issues.

“This is among the things that we have been doing while also handling 3R cases,” he said.

When pressed for more details Comm Mohd Shuhaily remained coy, adding that more will be revealed by Penang police on Friday.
