Jobless man admits raping 11-year-old sister-in-law


IPOH: An unemployed man has been charged at the Sessions Court here with raping his 11-year-old sister-in-law.

The 22-year-old accused, who is married with one child, pleaded guilty after the charge was read to him before judge Norita Mohd Ardani on Friday (Sept 22).

The charge was framed under Section 376(2)(e) of the Penal Code read together with Section 16 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

The offence was said to have been committed at a house in Taman Bersatu here at about 11pm on Sept 16.

The accused, who was not represented, could face a jail term of up to 30 years and whipping.

Judge Norita set Oct 23 for sentencing.
