Johor royal couple get special 41st anniversary gift thanks to their son's podium finish


JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah have received a special gift in conjunction with their 41st wedding anniversary.

According to the Johor Sultan's official Facebook page, the memorable anniversary gift was courtesy of Johor Racing through their third place finish in Race 1 of the GT World Challenge Asia final round in Sepang on Saturday (23 Sept).

"It is a wonderful and meaningful gift for His Majesty and myself in conjunction with our 41st wedding anniversary!

"I hope the team continue to do well in tomorrow’s race," said Permaisuri Johor after the podium celebrations.

Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim and partner Mikael Grenier showed good form in an incident-packed race on home ground to keep their hopes of clinching the GT3 Driver’s Championship going into Race 2 tomorrow.

The team’s other car, driven by Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Ibni Sultan Ibrahim and partner Broc Feeney, made their way up the middle of the field to finish in 11th.

Also attended the race to lend their support were the Raja Puan Besar of Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Ibni Sultan Ibrahim as well as Datuk Dennis Muhammad Abdullah.
