KUALA LUMPUR: Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), in collaboration with Monsta, the producer of popular fictional animation series BoBoiBoy, launched a special series titled "BoBoiBoy Air” in conjunction with World Rivers Day on Sunday (Sept 24).
In a statement, Air Selangor said that this is the third year both parties have worked together as an initiative to increase the public’s awareness about the importance of protecting and conserving water resources such as rivers, lakes and ponds.
Air Selangor’s corporate communications head Elina Baseri hoped that the important messages regarding water conservation and the public’s responsibility towards the environment could be conveyed to the community more effectively and easily through the animated video series.
Addressing the theme of toxic waste pollution in rivers, this series tells the story of how BoBoiBoy and his friends solve water pollution issues occurring on Planet Tandusia.
In the series, BoBoiBoy employs two special technologies named "HYDRA" and "OACIS", both of which are technologies used by Air Selangor to ensure the highest quality of water.
Meanwhile, Monsta marketing director Faiz Zainal Aabidin said in this age of rapid change, they need to adopt a more creative approach and follow the current trend to educate the public about the importance of clean water resources.
"With that in mind, we hope that our collaboration with Air Selangor and BoBoiBoy can deliver a more family-friendly initiative that is delivered in a more proactive manner,” he added.
Premiering on Sept 24 in conjunction with World Rivers Day, the series can be viewed on Air Selangor’s official Facebook and Youtube channels.
The statement also said that Air Selangor has improved its Hydro Hub, featuring local celebrities such as Nabil Ahmad, Aishah Sinclair, Makcik Roastmah, and Daniel Cheang, who will be discussing topics about protecting and conserving water through the Water Handbook for all Malaysians via the Master Class Hydro Squad series by Air Selangor. - Bernama
