Cops looking for vehicle involved in deadly crash that killed one teen, injured another


KULAI: A 17-year-old teenager was killed and his friend injured after their motorcycle crashed into the back of a car at KM23.1 North-South Expressway.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee said the incident occurred at 5am on Saturday (Sept 30) when the victim was riding his motorcycle heading South from Batu Pahat.

“The rider had suddenly lost control of his motorcycle before crashing into the back of a car at the location.

“The impact caused the rider and his pillion rider to be flung into the middle of the road.

“The rider suffered a serious injury to the head and was pronounced dead at the location, while the pillion rider, also age 17, suffered a minor injury,” he said in a statement.

He added that the victim's body had been brought to the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital for a postmortem.

“We are currently seeking public cooperation to come forward if they have witnessed the incident,” he said, adding that the police are also looking for the vehicle involved in the crash.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
