MATTA Penang kicks-off with 261 booths


GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2023 kicked off on Saturday (Sept 30) with 261 booths occupying the Setia SPICE Arena in Bayan Lepas.

MATTA Penang Chapter chairman Carolyn Leong said the booths were taken up by travel agents, state tourism organisations, hotels and theme parks among others.

"We expect some 30,000 visitors to come to the event which starts on Sept 30," she said.

She said the crowd on the first day is positive and the outlook is also positive for the country's tourism industry.

Leong said MATTA expected to see a sales between RM25mil to RM30mil during the two-day fair from 10am to 9pm.
