Three women escape with injuries after their car falls into a ravine


BALIK PULAU: Three women including an Indonesian national escaped death, when the car they were in fell into a ravine at Jalan Pondok Upeh, here.

State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they lost control of the vehicle which then skidded into the 20 ft ravine at about 10am on Sunday (Oct 1).

"When the rescue team arrived, two of the victims had been rescued by joggers and hikers who were in the area," he said, adding that the other victims were rescued by the rescue team.

He said the victims, who were in their 20s and 30s, suffered minor injuries to their bodies and faces, and that they had been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Several videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media.
