PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has received a signed copy of scientific oration by Prof Dr Megawati Soekarnoputri, the fifth president of Indonesia.
"I am honoured to receive this," said the MCA president in a post on his official Facebook account on Monday (Oct 2) after receiving the oration.
Dr Wee added that the oration titled “Social Transformation of the Indonesian Nation in the Perspective of the Pancasila Ideology” was presented by Megawati on the conferment of the UTAR Honorary Doctorate in Social Science to her.
Megawati is the first recipient of the honorary doctorate in social science to be awarded by the varsity.
The conferment was in recognition of her exceptional achievements, visionary leadership and dedication to advancing social and political discourse in Indonesia and beyond.
