Cops arrest three over assault of motorcyclist in Klang

KLANG: The police have detained three men in connection with the assault of a motorcyclist over a traffic altercation at Jalan Langat-Klang.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said the 21-year-old victim was riding his motorcycle when he honked at the suspects in a car for almost hitting him at about 7.15pm on Sunday (Oct 1).

"The driver then blocked the victim at a traffic light at Jalan Langat-Klang. One of the suspects then got down and pushed the victim before punching his face and kicking his stomach. The same suspect also kicked the victim's motorcycle until it fell," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 3).

Upon investigating, police tracked down and arrested three men aged between 28 and 39 years old at about 6.30pm on Monday (Oct 2), he said.

"Two of the suspects had prior records for drug-related offences while the 39-year-old suspect tested positive for methamphetamine,” said ACP Cha.

He added that the suspects will be remanded and the investigating officer will complete the investigation soon before referring the matter to the Deputy Public Prosecutor.

ACP Cha also urged those with information to contact South Klang police at 03-3376 2222 or the nearest police station.
