12 more arrested in brawl between rival tow truck drivers

KUALA LUMPUR: Another 12 men have been arrested over a street brawl between two rival factions of tow truck drivers at Kampung Malaysia Tambahan recently.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Zam Halim Jamaluddin said the 12 men, aged between 20 and 35, were suspected of having been involved in the brawl.

This brings the total number of arrests involving the case to 20 to date.

“They were arrested around Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday evening.

“We have obtained a three-day remand order on these suspects to assist with further investigations,” he said when contacted yesterday.

ACP Zam Halim said the police would not compromise with those who break the law.

“Stern action will be taken to ensure harmony and public order,” he said.

Police had earlier detained eight suspects believed to have been involved in a fight using weapons at Kampung Malaysia Tambahan on Monday morning.
