Dr Wee congratulates new Ayer Hitam uni students


PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong congratulates 129 youths from Ayer Hitam over their success in enrolling in public higher learning institutions.

In a Facebook post, Dr Wee said he met the students and their families together with Johor exco and Yong Peng state assemblyman Ling Tian Soon at an event on Saturday (Oct 7).

"We presented a total of RM38,700 to the new university students as a gesture of encouragement.

"Congratulations also goes to their parents for their guidance in making it possible for the children."

Dr Wee also said he presented an allocation to four schools in the Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency.

Later, Dr Wee and Ling had an afternoon tea session with the leaders from six clan associations and eight Hungry Ghost Festival associations in Ayer Hitam.

"As Ayer Hitam MP, I have the responsibility to help develop the local community. Same goes for Ling Tian Soon, who has been given the mandate by Yong Peng constituents.

"This responsibility is not just about providing allocations for various community programmes but also road upgrades and the reconstruction of the morning market which was ruined in a fire."

Dr Wee there was a need to provide comprehensive services to the people to protect their source of income and ensure their safety.

"Let us continue to work hand in hand to give our people the best quality of life."
