Give Cabinet time to prove their worth, says Khairy

JOHOR BARU: The present Cabinet should be given more time to prove their worth before any reshuffling takes place, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

He added that there would be efforts to fill the vacancy at Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry following the death of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub on July 23.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has two choices; to fill the vacancy or take this opportunity to make a major reshuffle in his Cabinet lineup," said Khairy.

“To me, it is a bit early because these ministers have been in the job for less than a year and a bit unusual for a major reshuffling to happen within a short period of time,” added the former Health Minister

Khairy said this when met after attending the opening ceremony of Johor International Youth Conference 2023 held at Persada International Convention Centre here on Saturday (Oct 7).

The Johor youth advisor added that based on his experience, a Cabinet reshuffle would normally happen after two years.

“Give these ministers some time to show their performance. It is not enough to judge them within the last 10 to 11 months. We should be fair to them,” he said.
