Pelangai polls (live updates): Barisan wins Pelangai with 2,949-vote majority, says EC


PETALING JAYA: All polling stations for the Pelangai by-elections have closed at 6pm on Saturday (Oct 7) and the vote-counting process begins.

The Election Commission earlier reported that voter turnout for the Pelangai by-election was 69% as of 4pm.

A total of nine polling centres with 30 channels opened at 8am for the Pelangai polls. The EC elected 312 officers to be on duty for the voting process, which involved 16,383 registered voters.

The Pelangai by-election saw a three-cornered fight between Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Amizar Abu Adam, Kasim Samat of Perikatan Nasional and Independent candidate Haslihelmy DM Zulhasni.
