Hajiji being greeted upon arrival at Dewan Tun Hamdan, Tamparuli, on Sunday (Oct 8).

KOTA KINABALU: Political bickering among Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) should stop, says its president, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The Chief Minister told party members that everyone should focus on developing the state under the Sabah Maju Jaya development plans.

"We must ensure all the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya aspirations are successfully implemented," he said when opening the Gagasan Rakyat Tamparuli division annual general meeting about 40km from here Sunday (Oct 8).

He added the main focus of Gagasan Rakyat, which he leads, was Sabah's development.

"We (Gagasan Rakyat) are not competing with our partners in (GRS).

"Gagasan Rakyat was not formed to play politics, but we focus on the development aspect of the state," he said.

Therefore, Hajiji said, Gagasan Rakyat needed to establish solid cooperation with all GRS components in all its 73 divisions.

He said Gagasan Rakyat was only seven months old, but he was glad to note the maturity of its leaders and members.

Hajiji also commended that Tamparuli Gagasan Rakyat, under Datuk Alijus Sipil's leadership, now has 68 branches and some 2,000 members.
