Johor cops nab 16 for taking part in illegal cock-fighting


KOTA TINGGI: Police have arrested 16 individuals, including three foreigners, for taking part in cock fighting at Felda Tunggal here.

Kota Tinggi deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Nik Azaham Nik Aziz said police uncovered the illegal gambling activity during an operation in the area at around noon on Sunday (Oct 8).

He added that the operation led the police to arrest all 16 suspects aged between 25 and 60 years old.

“Police seized eight roosters that were used in the cock fighting and other items including the area and cash amounting to RM5,473.

“Further checks on the suspects found that two of them tested positive for drugs. All of them are under remand until Wednesday (Oct 11) to assist with investigations,” he said here on Monday (Oct 9).

DSP Nik Azaham added that police would continue to carry out action against anyone involved in any illegal activities including cock fighting.
