Residents want area for funeral rites to be conducted

HINDU residents in Jelai, Negri Sembilan, are upset after unknown persons dumped chicken carcasses at a location used for funeral rites by the community, Makkal Osai reported.

A complaint to the Jempol Municipal Council resulted in the area, next to a river, being cleared due to the environmental hazard.

The council also closed off the area, leaving the community with no place to conduct their rites.

Seremban Jaya assemblyman P. Guna who visited the place with local village chief K. Raja urged the council to identify a suitable location for the Hindu community to conduct their rites.

> The daily also reported that fans of the controversial godman Nithyananda were in shock after the woman who was caught in a sex scandal with him was appointed as prime minister of his self-declared nation, Kailasa.

Nithyananda and Ranjitha, a well-known TV personality, were caught in compromising positions in a leaked video.

Nithyananda’s followers are apparently unhappy with Ranjitha whom they claim was manipulating the holy man.
