Firemen save man who fell into drain in Kampung Baru Subang

SHAH ALAM: A man fell into a drain and received injuries to his chest after the drain cover he was standing on gave way, near here.

When contacted, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said that firefighters were informed of the fall at around 7.30pm on Wednesday (Oct 11).

A team was then dispatched to the scene at Kampung Baru Subang.

"A 56-year-old man had fallen into a 5 foot (1.52m) drain while walking on top of a drainage cover.

"The cover did not break. The victim had stepped on it while walking and both him and the cover fell into the drain," he said.

He added that the cover was found to not have been "closed neatly".
