Over 300 Selangor cops have faced disciplinary action this year

KLANG: Misconduct and disciplinary issues among police personnel in Selangor will not be tolerated, says its police chief.

Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said he would not compromise if any of his personnel were found guilty of misconduct and criminal offences.

"We will not sit and do nothing or turn a blind eye to this problem, and we will not hesitate to take stern action against these bad apples.

"From Jan to Sept this year, we have taken disciplinary action against 319 officers(19) and rank and file personnel(300).

"We have also taken action against 47 personnel, including two officers, for various criminal offences," he told reporters at North Port here after attending a joint field training exercise on Wednesday (Oct 11).

He said integrity offences topped the charts this year regarding disciplinary issues, with 14 officers and 203 rank-and-file personnel involved in such misconduct.

"We have 15,000 personnel in Selangor, and although the number of those found guilty of misconduct is low, we do not want to skirt the issue or protect any of our personnel who are guilty of wrongdoings," he said.
