Datuk denies stealing hubby’s Rolexes


IPOH: A police officer’s wife with a Datuk title has claimed trial at the Magistrate’s Court here for stealing two luxury watches from her husband at a house in Pinggiran Rapat Ria here two years ago.

Datuk Mou Ei Leen @ Eileen Mou pleaded not guilty after the charge under Section 380 of the Penal Code was read before Magistrate Siti Nora Sharif yesterday.

Mou had allegedly stolen a Rolex Sky-Dweller (Model 326135) and a Rolex GMT Master-II (Model 116718 LN) from the storage house in January 2021.

The value of the timepieces was not stated in the charge sheet, but a quick search online showed that the watches are worth between RM65,000 and RM180,000.

If found guilty, she could be jailed for up to 10 years and fined.

When requesting a lower bail, Mou’s lawyer Gurbachan Singh said his client was unemployed.

“She is a single mother who is taking care of two school-going children,” he said.

Siti Nora set bail at RM3,000 and Nov 22 for mention.

Outside the courtroom, Gurbachan said Mou was separated from her husband, the complainant in the case.

“They are not divorced but have been separated for two years.

“They were living together during the alleged offence,” he said, adding that Mou was also suing her husband for defamation, with the case pending at the Ipoh High Court.
