Terence Au named as acting Warisan Youth chief


KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan’s Youth vice-chief Terence Au will replace Mohd Ismail Ayob who quit as the party’s youth chief recently.

In a statement on Friday (Oct 13), Au, who is also the Kota Kinabalu division vice-chief, would take over as the acting Youth chief.

Au, 41, an operations officer with an airline company, was among the 12 new faces in the party’s latest youth wing leadership line-up known as Wira.

Besides him, Mohammad Firdaus Diun was named as the acting deputy chief while Mohd Nazli Mohd Lan, Khairuddin Daud and Mohd Azreen were appointed as the vice chiefs.

These appointments were made following a meeting on Thursday (Oct 12).

In his speech, Au said the youth wing would give its full support to Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and his deputy Datuk Darell Leiking to lead the party.

He said they would also work with the central leadership as well as other party wing’s to ensure victory for Warisan in the next state election.

On Sunday (Oct 8), Mohd Ismail Ayob announced his departure from Warisan, a year after he took over the youth chief post.

He also quit as the party’s Kinabatangan division leader in a resignation letter addressed to Warisan secretary-general Datuk Loretto Padua.

In the letter made available to the media, Mohd Ismail said his decision to quit was based on personal reasons, as he wanted to take a break from politics and focus on family and his business.
