DXN HOLDINGS Berhad (DXN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Cyberjaya (UoC) on Oct 8 at DXN Cyberville, Cyberjaya, Selangor.
The company is an expert in exploring and optimisation of the potential health value of Ganoderma Lucidum or more commonly called “Linzhi” and a leader in the health food supplements industry, renowned for its emphasis on Ganoderma mushroom-based products.
The MOU signifies the formation of an academic-industry partnership between DXN and the UoC that fosters mutual collaboration and knowledge exchange.
This collaboration is in line with the DXN ‘s commitment to promote the traditional medicine treatment in a scientific manner, while the UoC will utilise its expertise in medicine, health sciences and pharmaceutical sciences and biomedical technology to further stretching the spectrum of Ganoderma Lucidum use horizontally and laterally.
DXN is confident that the collaboration will help the world community to achieve better quality of health.
It believes by partnering with UoC, the user experience in the premium market across the world can be improved.
Upon the MOU signing ceremony, DXN and UoC will jointly conduct scientific and non-scientific research on the Ganoderma mushroom.
Both will collaborate on cutting-edge research projects exploring the multifaceted values of Ganoderma mushrooms, with the aim of advancing our understanding of their potential benefits.
Specifically, concentrated research activities will be carried out through the collaboration between DXN and UoC in Ganoderma-led research in the fields of pharmacology, complementary medicines, business and psychology.
DXN will also extend research funding opportunities to UoC, furthering the institution's capacity to engage in innovative research endeavours in related fields.
The funding will be utilised to strengthen scientific research facilities in UoC, along with providing research scholarships to postgraduate students.
Through this partnership, students from UoC will have the opportunity to undertake internships and engage in practical learning experiences within DXN, gaining valuable industry insights.
UoC will also provide specialised educational offerings tailored to the needs of DXN’s staff, members and agents.
Both parties will engage in knowledge exchange and professional development within the industry.
The UoC will extend health care-based education service to DXN through short-courses, micro-credentials, and diploma through master's degree programmes if required from time to time.
The Faculty of Traditional and Complementary Medicine (FTCM) will be the frontrunner in this context.
UoC vice chancellor Prof Dr Zabidi Hussin expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "This Memorandum of Understanding represents a significant stride in our mission to bridge academia and industry.

DXN non-independent executive chairman and founder, Datuk Lim Siow Jin expressed his welcome and optimistic expectation in collaborating with UoC.
He also expressed encouragement that the world will recognise the potential benefits of Ganoderma Lucidum and its impact on human health.
He also mentioned that the collaboration will foster greater understanding and awareness of natural health products overall, as well as natural traditional herb products specifically.
Under Lim’s leadership, DXN believes the collaboration with UoC will further enhance the awareness of the roles of traditional herbal and medicine in relation to the modern healthcare solutions.
