IGP warns recipients of Pahang honours, titles against displaying emblems on vehicles

KUALA LUMPUR: Action will be taken against recipients of Pahang state honours and titles who continue to display emblems of the awards on their vehicles.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said displaying the emblems was an offence under Section 3(1)(D) of the Pahang Emblems, Titles and Awards (Prevention of Improper Use) Enactment 2017.

"It stipulates that no one except with written permission by the Sultan can display or affix any item that contains title emblems or awards or replicas of the awards on any vehicle.

"Action will be taken if any vehicles are caught displaying the emblems or awards under the Enactment," he said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 15).

It was reported that recipients of Pahang state honours and titles had been reminded not to display emblems of the awards on their vehicles.

Controller of the Pahang Sultan’s Household Datuk Ahmad Khirrizal Ab Rahman was quoted saying that regulations under the Pahang Emblems, Titles or Awards (Prevention of Improper Use) Enactment 2017 prohibits the display of awards granted by the Sultan.

He said the reminder also upholds the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

"Recipients who violate and commit an offence under this enactment will face revocation of their titles and awards.

"Any individual who is found to be using a false title can also be charged," he said.

Ahmad Khirrizal said the state administration had requested the cooperation of the police and Road Transport Department to take action against the offenders.
